He started the practice in 1971; his first Master was Bruno De Michelis

At this point he became pupil of

with few of the best Masters and competitors of the world of that period
So, at the age of 15, he was sent

When he
came back, under the guide of Master Shirai, he started his long
national and international activity as kata and kumite competitor
winning, until the age of 31:
- 12 medals at the Italian Championships (between kata and kumite ). -

Marchini,
Alessandro Cardinale, Pasquale Acri, Guazzaroni brothers( one of them
now is one of the National Italian kumite coaches), Massimo Di Luigi,
Pino Sacchi, Gennaro Talarico just to say only few of them.
At the age of sixteen, he started
teaching in his father gym, showing a good attitude in teaching too.
His motto has been til the beginning: “…. I teach only what I proved
was good first on me….”. In this way, first successes, as coach, didn’t
came late. His pupils began winning very easy competition, then he
